Over the past two decades or so, scam artists have had their way with nearly every facet of the business world. We're bombarded daily with stories of one rip-off after another, and our email inboxes are flooded with false claims of instant wealth, all aimed at information theft or the sale of worthless products or services. Companies are created overnight and after robbing consumers blind, disappear just as quickly. The result has been a 180 degree shift in the outlook of the individual looking for providers of services and goods.
